Hand Spinning, Design and Weaving - Aine Dunne

Takes place during school term, 10 weeks at one hour weekly.
(Tapestry weaving also available all year round - 2 day workshops or six one hour classes)
Accommodation is available for one individual. Aine Dunne designs and weaves tapestry wall hangings for the public and private sector. She also runs workshops and classes in weaving design and hand spinning from her studio and through schools and other centres.

Accommodation is available at local B&B's. Ballytoughey Loom are a small hand weaving cottage industry. Everything is done by hand and they are dedicated to preserving the craft and passing on the knowledge.

Accommodation available at local B&B's. Learn the basic skills of tapestry weaving including colour theory, the use of fibre and design know how.

Weaving Workshops - Muriel Beckett

Course dates are organized by demand 4 days, 10 am to 4 pm daily. Course length and times can be tailored to suit needs.
There is accommodation available at local B&B's, hostel and hotel. Muriel is a professional weaver, known for her colourful floor rugs and tapestries. Also a qualified teacher, she has extensive experience mainly at third level with FAS, NCAS, DLCAD and currently at Stewarts Hospital. The course includes planning and designing a project, making a warp, setting up a loom, weaving and finishing plus information on yarns, patterns and equipment.
